about

"In order to gain anything, You must first lose everything."
In this song I poured out my deepest regrets and sorrows about the first girl I ever truly loved and how I messed up by cheating on her. I still regret it to this day. Then I apologise to my parents. I know I'm not the best son but I'm trying. This is probably the deepest song I've ever wrote and in some strange way it helped lift a heavy weight off of my shoulders. Well enjoy and hopefully you can relate in some way. - Cesar Solorio

lyrics

[Verse 1]
August 26th, 2009,
First girl I was ever proud to call mine,
Not much of a rebel but I brought it out,
Ever since I did her dirty everthing went south,

She can forgive me over and over agian,
But when I look into the mirror I apologise all over again,
Never much of an angel but that was too far,
I'm going to Hell for breaking this angel's heart,

"I was drunk and stupid" is what I told her,
I still chose to do it now my heart's colder,
If you label me an idiot I wouldn't disagree,
I broke the trust, promise, and most of all her dreams,

Now she's with a guy that can make her happy,
While I'm struggling to put a smirk on my face sadly,
Hopefully by the end of this song I'll try to smile,
But hoping is for the weak so I'll stay in denial

[Hook x2]
I'm standing on the edge trying not to slip,
Debating whether or not to end it quick,
The floor's stained by all of these liquor drips,
It's less painfull to fall than to reminisce

[Verse 2]
Mom, Dad, I know I'm not the best son,
I'm pretty intelligent but my decisions are blunt dumb,
The things I do are viewed as cool but not fun,
When I grow the balls I'll pack my stuff and just run,

I might not go to college,
It's on my mind but music's where my heart is,
The truth is that the truth hurts, I'm drinking to quench my thirst,
I'm bottling my anger and depression so I don't burst,

I'm sorry if sometimes I curse,
it helps me to get rid of unneeded stress, I'm sorry but it really works,
I'm hoping that it doesn't become worse,
I'll try to stop unless I go to prison first,

I don't think that I'll ever be the son you wanted,
But I'm trying, I really am, I'm being honest,
Hopefullly by the end of this song I'll try to smile,
But hoping is for the weak so I'll stay in denial

[Hook x2]
I'm standing on the edge trying not to slip,
Debating whether or not to end it quick,
The floor's stained by all of these liquor drips,
It's less painfull to fall than to reminisce

[Bridge x2]
I want someone to find me,
Take me away from here,
Look at what I've become, look at what I've really done,
Watch me as I disappear

[Hook x2]
I'm standing on the edge trying not to slip,
Debating whether or not to end it quick,
The floor's stained by all of these liquor drips,
It's less painfull to fall than to reminisce
